sandy: dark in the city

the view of manhattan from the brooklyn bridge

the lower downtown districts still mostly dark...

especially the southern tip...

the dark path to manhattan 

downtown manhattan : still no traffic lights. 

nypd officers stand with flares and direct traffic all night

tribeca -- no traffic or interior lights

toward brooklyn...

the bright side...

fallen: after sandy

cobble hill, brooklyn, the day after "sandy"...
relatively lucky.
still beautiful.
